Overview
Located in the center of the Loire, the Anjou region mainly produces Chenin Blanc for white and Cabernet Franc for red. The soils vary from gravel to chalk, schist, slate, granite and volcanic earth.
Most of the sub-regions within Anjou focus on Chenin Blanc, with Savennieres being the most well-known. However, the sub-region of Anjou also produces Cabernet Franc and Grolleau and Saumur also produces Cabernet Franc.
