San Juan

Overview

Argentina’s second largest wine region, San Juan is one of the sunniest climates in the world. At about 1,500 feet above sea-level, it sits at a lower altitude and has hot days and cool nights.

San Juan’s most widely cultivated wine red varietals are Syrah, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Bonarda, with some white wine production of Chardonnay and Torrontés as well.

It is also known for its production of sherry, base wines for brandy and table grapes.
