Béquignol

Description

Béquignol is a red French wine grape variety found primarily in southwest France where it has a history of being used in early Bordeaux wines. Today it is rarely used in Bordeaux but some producers in Lavilledieu Vin Délimité de Qualité Supérieure (VDQS) in the Tarn-et-Garonne region still used Béquignol in wine under that appellation. According to wine expert Jancis Robinson, Béquignol produces wine that have deep, dark color but is light in body.
