Trinchero Family chalks out $300m expansion at Lodi wine facility in California

February 7, 2013
Trinchero Family Estates, a Napa Valley-based family-owned winery, plans to invest $300m to expand its winery in Lodi, California, as part of plans to double its wine production capacity.

The expansion includes the construction of a new central bottling and distribution center at the Lodi facility, which is scheduled to be completed by mid-2015 and is expected to add around 300-400 new jobs.

Though the company is based in St Helena, the family chose Lodi because they receive majority of grapes from Lodi, where the climate is perfect for growing grapes.

According to the company, it shipped around 19.6 million cases of wine in 2012 and plans to increase that number to 30 million cases over the next 10 years.

Trinchero Family Estates CEO Roger Trinchero told that expansion of the Westside Winery off Woodbridge Road and Interstate 5 in Lodi and construction of a new bottling and distribution center will help them support their growth plans.

The company markets about 30 different wines, including brands like Sutter Home, Mènage à Trois, Trinity Oaks and the Wine Cube.
