Assistant Vice President, Off Premise, National Chains - Century
Position Overview:
Delivering sales and gross profit growth for Century Ownership by supporting all elements of our route to market in Off-premise local, regional and national chains.  Building sales capabilities and tools for the assigned off-premise Sales Reps and Managers, in delivering specialized services to outlets by being fully versed in the Century Portfolio, Diageo and Moet Hennessy spirits and wines.  In this position you will serve as an internal and external leadership resource, with a consultative role for both customers and distributor employees.
 
Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for sales execution in national chains including but not limited to Total Wine & More, Wegman’s, BJ’s and Costco.
  • Coordinate with supplier national account managers to execute their agreed upon initiatives at the local level
  • Build long term relationships with key account decision makers with professional brand presentations and programs to drive sales volume, gross profit and improved distribution for Century Ownership
  • Communicate directly with individual outlet stakeholders on all key aspects of the business including pricing, distribution, operations and merchandising
  • Work with market-based salespeople and managers to implement pricing and promotional strategies agreed to at the corporate level in each outlet
  • Support Century Division sales management with insights into program development, executional strategies and market dynamics
  • Work in conjunction with SAM Team to maximize Martignetti Companies business in off-premise chains
  • Drive results that contribute to the overall success of Century supplier and Martignetti volume metrics. To include monthly and period programming results and management of contributions made by account assigned sales teams
  • Develop customized event and sampling programs that help drive overall Century initiatives
  • Drive the overall success of major trade initiatives   
  • Travel to key account headquarters will be required
 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent Communication/Presentation/ Training/Teaching skills
  • Complex selling strategies including brand pricing and profitability
  • Spirits and Wine category knowledge and high-end consumer and brand acumen
  • Ability to continually expand knowledge on complex brands and related marketing strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and a high achiever
Education/Training/Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Candidate must possess valid MA driver’s license
  • Work flexible hours as required to complete all necessary job functions
  • Six to eight years direct selling experience
  • 4-5 years in Spirits industry with specific day to day in-trade experience 
  • Minimum 4 years in direct report management. Training experience preferred
